Which wireless broadband network do you use?

Hello friends!

Please help.  I'm trying to get wireless broadband for the shop (because DSL for business establishments is too expensive).

Which network is the best considering signal (in Cubao), customer service support, and reliability?

I've been hearing the globe network (globe tattoo) isn't too reliable raw. How true?

Sun broadband wireless naman looks promising, but I've been reading bad stuff about it rin.

I hope someone can share their opinion.

Thanks!

  1. Hi Ate Anj. I use Smart broadband in my dorm in LB, and it's quite fast. :) I haven't tried the other networks, but Smart works for me.

  2. Yeah. Take it from her. But for me, any wireless isn't at all too reliable. Can't guarantee strong signal all the time. Problema lang, pag madami ring naka-Smart bro sa area niyo, mag-aagawan ng signal din. Pero try mo pa din Smart bro :)

  3. I'm using Sun broadband for a couple of months now and so far, the connection's great! I tried it before when I was in Gateway and the signal's not bad.

I suggest to be sure, go to any Sun shop and ask them if the area of store is covered with a good signal. They can look it up in their database if an area is covered and also check the nearest cellsite is. If you're near it, a very big chance you'll get strong signal.

Globe in my opinion, is overly hyped. My bf used to have the Globe visibility (the one where you pay for unlimited use) and the service is crappy.

Also, sun's service is dirt cheap. Unlimited use for 799 a month, or in my case, since it's bundled up with my postpaid.. it's 649 a month.

  5. onga signal-dependent, kaya scary. baka masayang lang money ko. sigh, no choice lang talaga ako, I don't want to pay too much kasi extra connection lang to, I already have DSL at home.

    thanks for your input!

  6. There's a sun shop in Alimall, which is pretty near Cubao Expo, so I guess signal's good. But will go there later to be sure!

    Thanks for the input!

  8. I have been using SmartBro for two years now. To be honest, when I tried it before and the service was crappy, but I think they have been improving their service. They even have SmartCares in Twitter and Plurk so that if you have any problem they can assist you at once.

Although, I heard Sun is good too.

Globe is just plain crap. :-)

  13. Sorry, forgot to update.

I decided to get Sun. I find the connection slow. (Nasanay kasi ako sa DSL). Pero I guess pwede na, I can still play Cafe World on FB. :) Hehehe.

Never pa naman nawalan ng signal. I've been using it in Cubao Expo. Sometimes I bring it home to Pasig. Great signal in both areas.

    Thanks for everyone's feedback!
